About Akkon Lines
Akkon Lines was founded in 2018 under the legal name Akkon Denizcilik Nakliyat ve Ticaret A.Ş., backed by the Akarlar Shipping group, a considerably older name in Turkish shipping than the line itself. In a sector where most operators trace back decades, a 2018 founding makes Akkon genuinely new, and it has grown quickly enough to become one of Türkiye’s larger container carriers.
Its fleet reflects that growth strategy: trade press reports around 26 vessels totalling roughly 35,300 TEU, but only a couple are owned outright. The rest are chartered, which lets a young carrier scale capacity fast without the capital commitment of newbuilds, and it also means the fleet composition changes more often than it would at an established line.
For Pakistani shippers, the relevant detail is Akkon’s dedicated Turkey–India–Pakistan service. Direct services on that corridor are relatively scarce, and most cargo between Türkiye and Karachi moves via transshipment through a Gulf or Mediterranean hub. A carrier running the lane directly is worth knowing about.
Akkon Lines tracking: what to check first
Your container is probably chartered equipment. AKKU is Akkon’s only registered prefix, and with most of the fleet on charter, a large share of boxes moving under Akkon bookings carry a leasing company’s code: Triton, CAI, Textainer or similar. That does not mean you have the wrong carrier.
Do not treat AKKU as a SCAC. Several tracking sites list AKKU as both the container prefix and the SCAC. It is confirmed as the container prefix in the BIC register; the SCAC claim is unverified and did not appear on either independent list we checked. If you need a SCAC for a customs filing, confirm it with the carrier rather than taking it from a tracking site.
There is no public tracking portal. Akkon’s own site has an online services area, but it reads as a booking and agency portal rather than a customer-facing container tracker. This is one of the carriers where tracking through a third-party dashboard genuinely saves time.
Fleet figures date quickly. With a mostly chartered fleet and rapid growth, any vessel count you find for Akkon, including the one on this page, is a snapshot of a particular moment rather than a stable characteristic.

The container was discharged at an intermediate hub and will be reloaded onto a second vessel. Most delays originate here rather than at origin.
Discharged
The container came off the ship at the destination port. Free time and demurrage clocks typically start from this event.
Gate out
The container left the terminal on a truck or rail wagon. Once this fires, the terminal's storage charges stop and the haulier's clock starts.
Empty return
The unpacked container was returned to the carrier's nominated depot. This closes the shipment and stops any per-diem detention charges.
